Working with childrens paintings can often inspire a sense of wonder to those involved. As the years have passed, I have been privileged to work with many artists and decorators who have both experienced and created this sense of wonder.
Working with childrens paintings can often inspire a sense of wonder to those involved. As the years have passed, I have been privileged to work with many artists and decorators who have both experienced and created this sense of wonder. A colleague and fellow artist disclosed how a simple project to decorate the childrens waiting area at a local hospital helped to reinstate his sense of fun and wonder. As he searched for inspiration for the project he happened upon two childrens paintings depicting scenes from one of his favorite childhood books. The paintings seemed to ignite wonderful childhood memories thus inspiring his long lost sense of fun. I was once told by a friend who happened to be an administrator at a local rehabilitation center that by hanging childrens paintings in the physical therapy lounge they were able to uplift the spirits of their patients. Both old and young seemed to just have a more optimistic attitude once the bare walls were transformed with the whimsical paintings and accessories. Childrens paintings can also spark a sense of joie de vive as well, as told by a decorator friend of mine. She goes on to tell the story of a couple who wanted some wall hangings for their home which could only be described as minimalist in theme/style. The couple was reviewing her portfolio when they ran across some Lollipop Art prints and were thoroughly enchanted. Adding the prints to a hallway seemed to warm up the house and couple alike. As told by a decorator friend, whimsical accessories are not only for children but can bring joy to many adults as well. She was working with a couple whose style could only be described as cold and stark. However, as they looked through samples they seemed quite smitten with some childrens paintings 'Lollipop Art'. Not only were the paintings added as a main focal point to the public areas of their house but they seemed to actually infuse a warmth into the couple as well as the house. Whimsical childrens paintings can also inspire artistic expression. A fellow artist describes how a dance studio owner raved that the mural the artist was asked to paint on the walls at the dance studio so inspired the young students that enrollment almost doubled. The children so admired the ballerinas in the mural that they wanted to be just like them. A sense of fun and whimsy can be inspired by simply adding the most appropriate childrens painting to your life. As we can see, both young and old can be inspired by whimsical childrens paintings.
