The TASER C2 is a very powerful and effective tool designed to offer personal protection when danger is inevitable. It incorporates the same technology as the International Law Enforcement models, and has an impressive range of up to fifteen feet. The TASER is an electro-mechanical device that produces a complex pulse wave with a high voltage leading edge. This is followed by a low voltage simulation pulse which is adequate enough to cause neuromuscular incapacitation. This intervenes with the body's natural control systems, and in turn disables the sensory and motor functions of the nervous system. Basically, the body experiences a total loss of muscular control and the body will not be able to function independently. This outcome provides enough time for the victim to escape to safety and seek help, while the assailant is reduced to submission.

Equipped with CheckLock technology, the TASER C2 can be disarmed when in shipment and only has the ability to be unlocked by means of an activation code which is keyed into the device. Before the activation code can be issued to the user, they are required to participate in a screening and registration process to verify the device will not be in possession of someone other then it's rightful owner.

TASER offers a lifetime replacement guarantee on the TASER C2 that promises free replacement if the device is left behind when fleeing the scene, enabling the user to stun her assailant and get away without wasting time retrieving the device if it should be dropped.

According to the team at TASER International, "Your life is worth more to us than the cost of a TASER device."

One of the really nice features of the TASER C2 is that it has a built-in accountability factor. Every time the unit is fired a small cloud of confetti like paper, called ID Tags, is also propelled from the cartridge. This confetti has a tracking number on it so that the police can trace the unit back to the owner. This feature helps to make sure the self defense weapon is not being used in an abusive manner.

"No other weapon in the world-guns, knives, chemical and pepper sprays, electronic defense units or batons-can be traced from evidence at the scene of the crime to the registration of the user," says TASER International. "It all comes back to registration, verification, tracking and responsibility. It is not required by law; we think it's the right thing to do."

According to Federal Officials the TASER C2 is not considered a "firearm". That means you can carry it without a permit. Several States however have laws prohibiting the use of the unit. Make sure you check with your local authorities before buying one.
