Fishing continues to become more and more technologically advanced every single day. Thanks to very smart technicians and engineers on the West Coast, the more high tech it gets also means the easier it gets. The new pacific digital fish finder is quite possibly one of the most internally complicated, yet simple fish finding devices to use ever.

While the main hub is for use in deep water fish-finding, (hence the name Pacific Digital), the LED is also a detachable transportable fish finder of its own that is functional at depths up to 25 feet (while attached to the CPU of the main unit the LED displays depths up to 500 feet). So on its own the LED is perfect for those sunset mini-cruises into estuaries you take on the zodiac after a long day in the open water. Or even use some Velcro to attach it to your floating tube for lake fishing. It is just so incredibly versatile.

I have my or pacific digital mounted on my 48 foot ocean Skimmer and use it primarily outside of the San Francisco Bay fishing for great whites. I just opened a restaurant specializing in shark fin soup so this device is coming in really handy for my menu!

If you are the proprietor of a professional fishing outfit or restaurant that relies on customized catches, you have no excuse to not have a high-end fish finding device on your rig. And by including the detachable LED feature, you really get two fish finders in one and get so much value for your money. Heck, you could even use it to locate crawfish in a shallow stream (if you were incredibly lazy!).

At the time of writing, the PDFF500 (Pacific Digital Fish Finder 500) retails for around $899. A 1,000 foot depth model (PDFF1000) is expected out in late August and will retail for $1750. The PDFF1000 will also feature a detachable LED feature that will support depths up to 50 feet. Astounding.

I really couldn't imagine hitting the water without my pacific digital device. It has become an absolute staple in my rig. And you can bet your butt when the 1,000 foot model drops, I am grabbing that one for my 98 foot Ocean Cruiser.
