EPCOT was the brain child of Walt Disney and came about because of his desire for a better community for all. It's a part of Walt Disney World and the idea behind it its creation was to inspire the public. The way in which this is achieved is by demonstrating the best in industry to the general public. Although it's done in an entertaining way, this part of the theme park has been traditionally associated with adults.

It's a part of Walt Disney World and the idea behind it its creation was to inspire the public. The way in which this is achieved is by demonstrating the best in industry to the general public. Although it's done in an entertaining way, this part of the theme park has been traditionally associated with adults.

To provide the points of interest for the park, Disney encouraged North American Industry to produce their greatest advancements in technologies. They were given free rein to display what could be achieved when some of the best thinkers in the world were allowed to 'play'. Since the end of 1966 when Walt passed away, leaders in innovation have been providing showcase pieces for inclusion in the Disney dream of a better society.

It all began in 1966 shortly before Walt's death when he opened the innovation hub which he felt counted as his contribution back to society. With thoughts of improving the world in which we all live in, the advancements and wonders were displayed to the public. The main reason for doing so was to inspire the person on the street to think about their own world and how they could improve it. In short he wanted people to push the boundaries of their own existence.

Something that is recognizable to millions of people all around the world is the 'Spaceship Earth'. This in case you had not guessed is the giant gold ball that is one of the symbols that we all associate with the Walt Disney World. Inside the huge sphere you are taken on a ride through history eventually and at the exit you are propelled in to 'Project Tomorrow'.

The 'World Showcase' is not to be missed as this provides a unique insight to the cultures of the world. A lagoon is surrounded by a walkway that displays a multitude of information about countries of the world. It's amazing how much diversity exists from county to country and the cultures are represented here.

The Seas with Nemo and Friends; which used to be known as 'The Living Seas', is as the name suggests all about the oceans. Starting on the seashore you are then taken under the waves or that is how it seems. Guests are transported by giant clams on a trip in search of Nemo and are joined by Marlin and Dory Nemo's friends from the famous cartoon feature film.

Be sure not to leave EPCOT without first experiencing the 3D demonstration which places you in such features as the film 'Honey I Shrunk The Kids'. Far beyond anything you will see in a run of the mill 3D cinema you will be amazed at what the limits of entertainment technology are.

There are simply too many things to mention here to do justice to the wonders on display. Every one of the body's senses will be tantalized as there are so many entertaining areas of the innovation haven. Any visit to Orlando and Walt Disney World would not be complete without being inspired by the marvels on display.
